Fruit filling
4 large cooking apples, peeled, cored and sliced
Small handful of raisins
1 oz dark or soft brown sugar
1 level teaspoon of cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
2 tablespoons water or fruit juice (orange, apple, cranberry)
Couple of dried apricots, soaked in hot water and cut in halves
Summer fruits (frozen) mix (Asda) - 250g of strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, and redcurrants
Place the apples, raisins and spices in a pan with liquid, then cook gently with a lid on until the apples are soft and fluffy (about 10 - 15 minutes). Turn out into a large pie dish and add the drained apricots and frozen fruits and mix well.

Crumble mixture
200g or 7 oz plain flour (or mix of oats 3:1)
100g or 3 1/2 oz butter, cold, cubed
100g or 3 1/2 oz demerara sugar
Add the flour and oats to a mixing bowl and rub the butter into the mixture, using your fingertips until it looks crumbly - do not overwork it. Add the sugar and mix well.
Sprinkle the mixture all over the fruit. Place in oven at gas mark 4, 350F or 180C Fan for 30 - 40 minutes until the crumble mixture is tinged with brown.
Eat with double cream or ice cream.
