Meat


Having been vegetarian for several years I would say that I am reasonably careful about what I eat and also how much. Accordingly when I returned to eating meat again I approached with a certain amount of caution and tried to take note of the pressure the meat industry has upon our environment. I don't think it's wise to eat too much red meat, and we've never encouraged our children to overindulge in hamburgers and sausages. Having said that, since our son left home, he seems to take a delight in eating all sorts of rubbish that he would never have eaten in our house. Typical!

Most supermarkets these days will boast about their quality meat counter but I recommend checking out the independent butchers in your neighbourhood. We regularly use our local markets and have established good relations with our butcher who is helpful and informative.
